Matisse once wrote that he dreamt of “an art of balance, of purity and serenity, devoid of troubling or depressing subject matter, an art that could be a calming influence of the mind, something like a good armchair that provides relaxation from fatigue”. I love Matisse’s paintings. As A kid I used to look at my parent’s Artbooks. In fact, I learn by myself drawing and colors match looking and copying at Dictionary pics, Artbooks, History books, and my mother’s women magazines, as “Elle”, “Marie-Claire”.

Traditionally, goldfish, particularly Koi, have been used as a symbol of good luck and good fortune. In Chinese tradition, goldfish have an association with abundance.

I taught it was a blink to the popular expression “wet kiss” to paint two fishes kissing in the water. In this composition, I set up on the table in the bottom right of the painting a piece of watermelon. The vibrant red flesh of watermelon connotes fertility and sexuality. Dream of watermelon, therefore, signify love, lust, passion family, and harvest. Watermelon is a symbol of intellect, work, and welfare.

It seems all good vibes to me!
