Angkor Wat is a ancient temple city located in northwest Cambodia, in South-Est Asia. Angkor was the capital oh the Khmer Empire. The temple is the largest religious structure of a temple complex in the world. Unlike most Angkorian temples, Angkor Wat is oriented to the west. Originally constructed as a personal mausoleum for the great King Suyavarnam, dedicated to Indu god Vishnu, it was converted to a Buddhist temple towards the end of 12th century.
