This happy painting created by Stephane Delapree, aka Stef in 2014, shows a group of happy monks from Cambodia traveling in an old bus. In the background, we can see the Cambodian countryside and a farmer working in a rice field. Cambodians consider monks as the guarantor of the cultural and spiritual substance. Monk’s goals are to pray and pay respect to Lord Buddha, and to relieves the needs of indigent, ill, or helpless persons, or animals.
The yellow color is the symbol of the earth. This color, very important in Cambodian symbolism, represents glory, wisdom, harmony, happiness, culture.
